The Players and the Dealer use multiple d10s to play this game. each die shows the value between 1 and 10. 3. Players make an initial bet that is greater than or equal to the table's Minimum bet or less than or equal to the table's Maximum. ### Bottom line. 1. The goal of Black Baron is to get as close to the sum of 20 without going over. 2. If you have a sum of 21 or more, you automatically lose. 3. If the dealer ever rolls a starting sum of a 20, all the players lose. 4. If a players sum matches the dealers sum, then it is a push (you do not win or lose) ### Game Sequence 1. The players roll 2d10 while the dealer rolls 1d10 to establish their initial hand. 2. Starting with the player to the left of the dealer, players may: >[!player]+ Player Action >- **Hit:** Roll an additional 1d10 and add its value to their sum. >- **Stay:** Keep their current value and pass the action to the next player. 3. If a player at any time has a value greater than 20, they lose and their bet is collected. 4. Once all players have actioned, the dealer rolls 1d10 to complete their starting hand and then actions the hand following the below restrictions. >[!dealer]+ Dealer Actions >- If the dealers hand has the sum of *15 or less*, they MUST **hit**. >- If the dealers hand is *16 or more*, they MUST **stay**. >- The dealer stops taking hits if they *have 7 dice.* ### The Winner 1. Any player that has a sum greater than the dealer's but equal to or less than 20 win and are paid their bet 1:1. 2. Their bet is considered settled for this hand. >[!player]- Double Down (Double your bet for one card) >When a player has their initial hand, they may opt to put an additional amount equal to their original bet and HIT to roll one dice. They pass the action to the next player after making this action. >[!player]- Splitting (Doubles 9 or less) >When a player rolls two of the same value on their initial hand, they may put an an amount of coin equal to their original bet and roll 1d10 to create 2 starting hands. If a player rolls another copy of the original dice value, they may continue this process. The player then plays each hand split this way independently as a seperate hand. >[!player]- Round Table (7 Dice in a hand) >When a player or dealer hits enough times that they have 7 dice but their sum is equal to or less than 19, their sum is treated as being 20 regardless of its actual value. >[!dealer]- Black Plague >When the dealer shows a 10 on their revealed dice, they roll their second dice in secret. If this rolled value is also a 10, the dice is revealed and all players bets are forfeit and play starts again. ## Example of Play >[!summary]- Set Up >- 4 Players walk up to the table and determine they want to play. >- The Tables minimum is 1 and a maximum of 100. >- Player 1 places lt;/span> 2 as his bet >- Player 2 bets lt;/span> 1 >- Player 3 bets lt;/span> 3 >- Player 4 bets lt;/span> 2 >- ![[Black Baron step 0-1.png]] >[!summary]- Initial Hand >- Player 1 rolls a 7 and a 2 >- Player 2 rolls a 9 and a 4 >- Player 3 rolls a 1 and a 6 >- Player 4 rolls a pair of 8s >- The Dealer rolls 1d10 and shows an 8, a rather threatening hand. >![[Black Baron step 1-1.png]] >[!summary]- Player 1's Action >- Player 1 is feeling a little aggressive and opts to ***DOUBLE DOWN!*** He places in additional lt;/span> 2, (equal to his original bet) and rolls his 1d10 and gets a 7. >- His sum is 16, and because he ***DOUBLE DOWNED*** he passes the action to Player 2 ![[Black Baron step 2-1.png]] >[!summary]- Player 2's Action >- Player 2 is in a bit of a pickle and knows he needs to make a hand.
